by car: Messe München
One of the most important international trade fair grounds is just about five kilometers east of NEO. Every year, around 30,000 exhibitors and more than 2 million people from around the world meet in the 16 halls to visit one of 40 fairs for investment goods, consumer goods and new technologies. The 14 main international trade fairs currently include the ISPO, analytica and Automatica, the International Crafts Fair, Expo Real, IFAT and Intersolar, transport logistic and eCarTec, as well as the world’s largest exhibition in terms of area, the Bau construction fair.
by foot: weekly market in Baumkirchen
Fewer than 500 meters from NEO, market stalls are set up every Friday morning in the market square in the historic center of Berg am Laim: fresh vegetables, fruit, gourmet food, meat and fish – also organic – make up the colorful scene of the market. Perfect for weekend shopping or for a “freshness kick” during a lunch break.
with the suburban train: Rosenheimer Platz
Only 9 minutes away with the suburban railway is Rosenheimer Platz, one of the liveliest places in the city, a traffic hub and a meeting point for trips to Munich’s cultural, commercial and pub life. One more reason to go to the philharmonic orchestra on Gasteig while it is still standing.
